I’m Dr Sunita Pradhan, a Bombay-based dentist. I’m also a mom to two boys with unimaginable reserves of energy. Food is my passion. And after my kids were born, I was determined to feed them wholesome, home cooked, nutritious and delicious food that wasn’t laden with preservatives and artificial food colours. Little Treats was born out of various kitchen experiments for my kids. At the time I started out, a lot of home chefs were making jams, spreads and dips. But no one was working with butter. The only compound butter people knew of was garlic herb butter. That got me thinking: “Why not Kadipatta or Thecha Butter?” I started experimenting with Indian ingredients like green chillies, ginger, garlic, red chillies and curry leaves. I felt that our local Indian ingredients haven’t been given due credit, and I wanted to shine the light on these unsung heroes.
